For over 30 years, AAMDSIF has provided financial support for research that leads to new insights into the causes of bone marrow failure diseases and to the development of new therapeutic approaches. Since 1989 we have awarded over $5.5 million in funding 103 grantees.

- Required Letter of Intent (LOI)
LOIs are required prior to submission of full application. Applicants will be invited to submit a full application based on the LOI. - Poster Presentation
Grantees are required to present their work at the AAMDSIF Scientific Symposium, held every two years. Travel stipends may be available for grantees.

Application
Select applicants will be invited to submit full proposals, based on review of the letters of intent. Applications will be due October 31, 2024, and must be submitted via the grant application portal proposalCENTRAL, https://proposalcentral.altum.com/
In 2024, the AAMDSIF Research Grant Program will accept proposals in the following categories:
- Aplastic Anemia (focus on acquired)
- Pediatric Aplastic Anemia
- Myelodysplastic Syndromes/Neoplasms (MDS)
- MDS transition to Acute Myeloid Leukemia
- Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH)
- Inherited bone marrow failure syndromes
- Graft vs Host Disease (GVHD)
