Lisa Barbarotta is an Advanced Practice Oncology Nurse with over 18 years of oncology experience. Her current role is Oncology Patient Education Specialist, responsible for standardization and quality improvement of oncology patient education at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, a large academic medical center with 10 affiliated community sites. Her clinical expertise is in Hematology-Oncology having worked as an APRN caring for patients with hematologic malignancies for five years and also as a clinical nurse specialist for five years. She is an oncology certified nurse (AOCNS®), a board certified APRN, and a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and Cancer Patient Educators Network. Lisa obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and her Masters degree and Post-masters certificate in Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing. She has published extensively on topics relevant to the care and treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies.
